Sculptor Kimberlie Garg, currently residing in Newton, Ma, just completed a 2 month intensive research proposal to map Historic Boston. The project was a call for work by the City of Boston, the MBTA and the National Parks to find new ways to map the historic sites of Boston using public transportation. Garg chose to map the city through a series of 52 playing cards, each containing a historical site on one side of the card, and a map on the other side showing the local neighborhood from the T stop to that site, including 4-6 interesting facts and fun discoveries to be found en route to the destination. This kind of work is just part of Kimberlie Gargs’ artistic practice.
